Frequently Asked Questions about Ziro

Can you make a Ziro with an Action card

❌ No. A Ziro can only be achieved with the sum of your 5 cards in hand.
👉 Action cards have no numerical value: to succeed in Ziro, you must only use Number cards.

Can you change the sign of a number that has already been changed

✅ Yes. A new Action card can change the sign of a number that was already changed.
👉 Example: If an Action sets all 9s to +, two turns later another player can play an Action that changes the rule to all 9s being –.

If I draw a card that gives me Ziro but discard the Action card “Total Exchange”, can I declare Ziro

❌ No. A Ziro can only be declared at the end of your turn.
👉 Since the Action card activates when discarded, you must first apply the exchange. Only afterwards, with your final hand of 5 cards, can you possibly declare Ziro.

And with the Action card “Play Again”

✅ Yes. In this case, your turn ends and a new turn immediately begins.
👉 You can therefore declare Ziro before starting your new turn.

When the Action card “Total Exchange” is activated, who has to pass one of their cards to the player on their left first

✅ The exchange is done simultaneously, once each player has chosen a card to give.
👉 For the face-up version, count to 3 and all players reveal the card they want to exchange at the same time.

Can you discard the card you just drew

❌ No, you must discard one of your other cards.

We are many players and want to shorten the game. What should we do

✅ You can agree to play with only 2 Ziros to win instead of 3.
👉 This helps shorten the game length when there are many players.

My child has just learned to calculate, can they play Ziro

✅ Yes! For younger players, you can play with only 4 cards in hand instead of 5 to make calculations easier.
👉 You can also download the Numerical Rules in PDF as support for your children.
